COMMENTS ON THIS DRILL:
All rebounders must defend helpside, but what happens when ball is shot during this rotation? Good drill! |
VIDEOS OF VARIOUS TYPES OF REBOUNDING
|
Begin in a 2 on 2 setup as shown at left.
This a good recover help side, close-out and box-out drill. #2 begins with ball and defense is in help side positions with #1 defender in middle area.
When the ball is skip-passed to #1, the help side defender closes-out on #1. Defender #2 sprints to help side position. Allow #1 with ball to shoot and his teammate, #2 attempts to crash board for rebound.
Both defenders must reposition themselves as help side defenders and upon shot turn and box out offense.
Coach can be under basket and secretly direct offensive players how many passes to make before shot is made.
