Coaching

back to The OZONE

All coaches differ in what they expect from their athletes. Below are just a few exspectations and you may have many more.

All athletes are expected to follow the school athletic code manual and team rules.

Player’s commitment to the team is also shown by how they talk and act with each other.

Zero tolerance on taunting, trash talking, technical fouls, arguing with coach and/or teammates, you will come out of game.

Short sagging, player control, excessive dribbling or failure to execute plays during games will result in removal from game and discussion of issues.

Practice intensity a must, 100% practice effort.  Sloppy, lazy practice equals sloppy, lazy games.  Scrimmage hard, like a game.

If failure to perform basic skills happen during the game, the athlete must be removed, situation discussed (so player understands) and returned to game.

All athletes MUST give 100% during practice physically, mentally and verbally.  Failure to do so must result in a discussion and penalty in playing time if it continues.

All athletes MUST jog on and off the floor when substituting occurs, no walking.

All athletes MUST jog to and from practice stations and drills, no walking.

Keep a handle on this,

Coach O
